Abstract

The figure of the Apostle Paul is present in all three parts of The Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri. This study aims to verify the congruence of the portrait of Dante with the data of the Pauline tradition (Letters, Acts, apocryphal documents) and explore the rhetorical-narrative function entrusted by the Poet to the Apostle, described as the one who brings to human being the solace of faith, as the champion of eloquence, as the witness of heroic fidelity to the gospel.
