Abstract

A reinterpretation of the Italian cultural history in the XXth century places a substantial boundary to a system of thought that has dominated, in a form almost absolute, for most of those decades. Propose again a re-reading of the literary-critical discourse in Italy, getting rid first of all of the dictatorship of Croce, and then of that of Gramsci, it is especially important if you think that the current literary criticism in our nation often appears as a pale reflection of foreign fashions that are rather ephemeral and not very effective. It is therefore necessary to propose a philological and phenomenological reading of the texts, particularly eliminating the often unjustified literary reconstructions which, starting from De Sanctis and Croce, from Sapegno and Asor Rosa, always repeat the same judgments.
